This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Governance Consultant (System Application Analyst, Sr.) based in the United States.
This fully remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced data governance professional who is passionate about transforming data into a trusted strategic asset. In this role, you will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to strengthen data stewardship, metadata management, data quality, and governance practices across the organization. You'll help shape enterprise-wide data standards, deliver training initiatives, and drive continuous improvement through governance tools and process optimization. Working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment, you'll have the opportunity to lead projects, mentor colleagues, and influence how data is managed, shared, and leveraged to support better decision-making.
- Partner with data stewards and business stakeholders to establish governance standards, onboard new stewards, and promote effective data stewardship practices.
- Manage and maintain enterprise metadata within governance platforms, supporting catalog development, workflow automation, and metadata quality initiatives.
- Deliver and enhance enterprise data fluency programs by developing training materials, facilitating educational sessions, and evaluating program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data quality issues, analyze root causes, monitor key metrics, and support remediation efforts.
- Support the administration, configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of data governance tools and related workflows.
- Lead or coordinate small to medium-sized governance initiatives, document business requirements, analyze business processes, and recommend improvements to strengthen data management and analytics capabilities.
- Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert, providing guidance to team members and fostering collaboration across governance initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 4+ years, Associate's degree with 7+ years, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience in information technology, healthcare operations, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst, including documenting business processes and functional requirements.
- Minimum of 3 years in a customer-facing role and 2 years leading small to medium-sized projects.
- Experience developing and delivering user training or instructional materials.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly guidance while working independently and collaboratively.
- Preferred experience with data governance platforms such as Collibra, metadata management, data quality, business intelligence reporting, data stewardship, or governance best practices.
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification or equivalent data governance credentials are considered an asset.
- Fully remote position with Monday–Friday schedule and core collaboration hours from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM PT.
