Position Description

Infinite Electronics is seeking to fill a CAD Supervisor position. The CAD Supervisor’s role is a leadership position that includes leading a team of CAD resources, ensuring that schedule requirements for new product drawings and models processed by the CAD Team are met, and interacting with customers, members of the product management team and other departments. In addition, the CAD Supervisor ensures the support of legacy business with respect to CAD requirements including standard products, custom products, customer requested CAD and engineering change management.

The CAD Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day assignments of the CAD group and generating metrics of group performance. The CAD Supervisor ensures that processes and procedures are strictly adhered to by direct reports. The CAD Supervisor at Infinite oversees the planning, organizing, and controlling of the CAD creation in support of New Product Additions from initial stages of product conception to creating pristine drawings. The CAD Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the CAD content through the product life cycle. Development and deployment of new team processes in conjunction with the leadership may be required at times.

This person must demonstrate consistent and flawless performance, be highly dependable, schedule and task driven, proactive and be able to work under minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail, ability to follow through with multiple assignments and to receive, assimilate and relay technical information accurately are critical. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads the CAD team by orienting and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities. Active involvement in the departmental recruiting and hiring process
  • Leads the ECM (Document Control) Team in driving release od documentation and product life maintenance through Engineering Change Management processes and tools
  • Accomplishes staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Responsible for assigning and monitoring work; gathering resources; establishing productivity standards; implementing new procedures and tracking key performance indicators for both CAD and ECM
  • Creates reports on team activities, productivity, and progress for both CAD and ECM
  • Supports annual / quarterly / monthly goals for new products
  • Uses company tools to track and manage work assignments
  • Participates in weekly Quality meetings

Key Requirements

  • 4-year degree technical degree (BSME or BSEE preferred).
  • 10 years of relevant CAD experience and a demonstrated dedication to high quality CAD work is acceptable in lieu of degree
  • 5-year experience in managing a CAD team
  • Business education or training highly desirable
  • Experience in creating, managing, and loading CAD files in the PDM Solidworks environment
  • One year of practical electronics components experience
  • High level of computer proficiency – MS Office, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Internet
  • Experience in maintaining, tracking, and reporting metrics
  • Knowledge of ERP, Solidworks CAD tool and Product Database Management

Management Preferred Requirements

  • Proficient with Smartsheet
  • Additional languages (Spanish, Chinese)
  • Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) database
  • Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, PDM, and Solidworks

Physical Job Requirements

  • Frequently remains in a stationary position and occasionally moves about the office or worksite to access files, supplies, or attend meetings.

  • Must be able to visually assess information on screens, documents, and reports.
  • Frequently reads, interprets, and analyzes written and visual information.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate information and ideas in person, via video conference, and through written communication.
  • Works primarily in an office or remote office environment with standard business equipment.
  • May require extended periods of screen time.
  • May occasionally be required to attend meetings or events outside of normal workspace or business hours.

Work Environment: The work environment is typically considered to be an office environment located on-site, within an Infinite location, during regular or extended business hours. The work environment may include the employee’s residence (Work from Home) or a hybrid combination of home and on-site facility.
