About the role
At City Fertility, science and compassion go hand in hand. We are seeking an experienced Embryologist to join our Toowoomba QLD laboratory team and help deliver exceptional fertility outcomes for patients at one of the most meaningful moments of their lives.
As a skilled Embryologist, you will play an important role within our embryology and andrology team, delivering advanced scientific procedures with precision, care, and integrity. Guided by City Fertility’s values of Compassion, Respect, Commitment, Quality, and Communication, you will directly support patients through their fertility journey while contributing to outstanding laboratory performance and continuous improvement.

What you'll do
- Perform advanced embryology and andrology procedures including ICSI, embryo grading, vitrification, biopsy, cryopreservation, and semen preparation
- Conduct fertilisation checks, embryo assessments, and oocyte identification with accuracy and consistency
- Maintain strict adherence to witnessing protocols, RTAC standards, and laboratory compliance requirements
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, clinicians, and colleagues
- Participate in patient education sessions, including PGS/PGD information delivery
- Mentor and support less experienced embryologists in line with competency frameworks
- Ensure accurate completion of laboratory documentation, databases, and reports
- Support equipment calibration, media preparation, and laboratory maintenance
- Safely handle, store, and transport gametes and embryos in line with legislation and best practice
- Contribute to quality assurance activities, KPI monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Remain current with IVF legislation, RTAC requirements, and scientific advances
- Participate in weekend, public holiday, and on‑call rosters as required
What we are looking for
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification in a relevant scientific discipline, with demonstrated competency in advanced embryology and andrology techniques
- Minimum two years’ experience in an IVF laboratory with strong understanding of ART processes, legislation, and consent frameworks
- Demonstrated alignment with City Fertility’s values in all professional interactions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and empathetically
- High attention to detail, critical thinking ability, and confidence working in a fast‑paced, highly regulated laboratory environment
