Director, Managed Services

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Managed Services based in United States.

This leadership role offers the opportunity to shape and grow a high-performing managed services practice focused on Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications. You will lead strategic initiatives, oversee service delivery, and ensure operational excellence across multiple client engagements. Working closely with executive stakeholders, sales teams, and technical leaders, you will help drive business growth while optimizing team performance and financial outcomes. The position combines strategic planning, client relationship management, and operational leadership in a fast-paced healthcare technology environment. Accountabilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership for the managed services application team, ensuring high-quality service delivery, operational excellence, and consistent achievement of service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Oversee day-to-day client operations, monitor performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement initiatives that enhance service quality and efficiency.
  • Partner with business development and practice leaders to support sales efforts, contribute to pricing strategies, develop statements of work, and participate in client presentations.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with executive healthcare stakeholders, including technology and operational leaders, serving as a strategic advisor throughout client engagements.
  • Manage departmental budgets, monitor gross margins, optimize resource utilization, and support long-term operational planning.
  • Evaluate new technologies and operational tools to improve project management, capacity planning, reporting, and overall team productivity.
  • Develop and share best practices through internal collaboration, executive presentations, and industry conferences while providing regular performance updates and strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Support organizational growth by leading EHR implementation and optimization strategies while guiding teams through complex digital transformation initiatives.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Application Manager role or a similar leadership position within healthcare IT.
  • Previous experience managing EHR application teams, with expertise in implementation, optimization, and managed services environments preferred.
  • Current application certification, such as Epic Ambulatory or an equivalent EHR certification.
  • Strong leadership experience overseeing large-scale digital transformation projects and driving operational strategy.
  • Demonstrated success supporting the sales lifecycle, including opportunity identification, proposal development, client presentations, and contract execution.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, financial performance management, capacity planning, and resource utilization.
  • Experience with healthcare IT project management methodologies, Agile practices, and project management tools such as Microsoft Planner.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and lead organizational change initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
