Lead Medical Assistant IM - FT

The Lead Medical Assistant is responsible to ensure high quality patient care. Assist in daily problem solving and, in the supervision, and development of clinical support staff. Ensures Medical Providers receive sufficient support and assistance. Assist patients in a friendly and effective manner on medical issues and concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain established quality controls standards
  • Coordinates and schedules surgeries/procedures, follow up appointments as designated by physicians
  • Interacts with patients, physicians and other staff both within the Clinic and outside facilities providing accurate, time and responsive information
  • Delegates workload in downtime
  • Functions as expert Medical Assistant
  • Obtain authorization via payer website or by phone and follow up regularly on pending cases
  • Coordinates processes and routes all paper work as required to meet physician and facility requirements

· Manage equipment inventory/ ordering of medical and office supplies

· Training and direction of new medical assistants

· General administrative tasks

· Ensure the needed information and documentation is provided to support revenue cycle activities for office charts and operative reports

Requirements

  • Required: Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Required: Current BLS
  • Minimum of 2 years as a Medical Assistant in a physician office.
  • 3-5 years of clinical in a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records systems required
  • Previous leadership experience a plus
