Job Description
GardenCore is seeking an EH&S Coordinator that will be responsible for the administration and maintaining all environment, health and safety, insurance, OSHA, EAP and tracking all incoming and outgoing products per permit requirements. The EH&S Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of ensuring quality in Growing Media and Mulch products at the plant-level, including, but not limited to: formulation oversight and testing, incoming raw material inspection, testing, and approval ensuring that all established specifications and processes are followed.
Job Responsibilities
- Administer the plant’s Safety Program
- Maintain all required OSHA documentation
- Serve as Safety Committee Secretary
- Maintain and adhere to the Plant Safety manual
- Maintain safety records and prepare monthly safety reports
- Assist in the preparation and submittal of permit applications to the proper regulatory agencies
- Order and maintain personal protective equipment and first aid supplies
- Assist plant personnel with safety training
- Maintain employee relations policies and procedures
- Weekly Toolbox Talks
- Complete new hire onboarding/new hire trainings of all newly hired employees
- Enter and maintain data in the software used on site for data and recordkeeping
- Inspect work environments, machinery and equipment in establishments and other work sites for conformance with governmental standards
- Observe employees and determine compliance with safety precautions and safety equipment used
- Document findings and code sections violations to provide evidence in legal proceedings
- Endure monthly inspections and weekly meetings are completed each month
- Complete annual DEQ emission reports and Permit compliance
- Maintain working knowledge of new technologies developed by the industry and government regulations
- Tracking all outbound processed materials and all inbound raw materials

- High School degree or GED required
- At least one to three years of related office experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment
- Detail-oriented with a dedication to continuous improvement and team building
- Excellent verbal skills, written communication and presentations skills
- Ability to work with and through other company administrative, production and technical personnel at all levels to achieve plant and corporate goals
- Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Occasional travel may be required
- Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Lifting, bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping and reaching
- Able to work under extreme conditions such as hot or cold temperatures, noise, dust and dirt
