River Run is seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst to join our Credit Administration team. This role identifies, monitors, and evaluates credit risk within a commercial banking environment through financial spreading and analysis, credit underwriting, commercial borrower evaluations, covenant testing, and portfolio monitoring.

The ideal candidate will have the experience to independently manage underwriting requests and annual reviews while serving as a resource to junior analysts and interns. We are also open to an earlier-career professional with a strong foundation in banking, finance, or accounting who is ready to develop their commercial credit analysis skills.

  • Prepare comprehensive credit approval documents outlining borrower financials, credit requests, repayment capacity, and identified risks.
  • Analyze financial statements and manage financial spreadsheets to evaluate the personal and corporate creditworthiness of prospective and existing borrowers.
  • Conduct annual reviews of commercial borrowers and support the ongoing monitoring of the commercial loan portfolio.
  • Evaluate financial, economic, industry, management, and other non-financial factors that may affect a borrower’s ability to meet obligations.
  • Gather and evaluate relevant financial and borrower information, identify additional documentation needs, and complete assignments accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Identify potential or developing credit concerns within the loan portfolio and recommend appropriate action plans and risk rating adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate credit files and support commercial loan quality control, including quarterly updates, preliminary memos, and other documentation.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Loan Officers on credit requests, loan structures, and related underwriting activities.
  • Support Commercial Lenders with construction site visits, inspections, customer visits, and meetings, as needed.
  • Assist the Credit Administration team and Commercial Lending Officers with related projects and support activities.
  • Follow applicable credit policies, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures to help maintain sound credit quality and manage risk.
  • Complete required training and remain current on bank products, services, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Actively stays current on all Bank products, services, procedures, policies, and applicable regulatory and compliance requirements by regularly attending team meetings, completing mandatory training on schedule, and applying knowledge to ensure accuracy and compliance in daily operations.
  • Ensures adherence to federal and state laws, regulations, and bank policies by preventing violations, minimizing risks, and safeguarding the Bank’s interests.
  • Verifies transactions and account balances, ensuring compliance with bank policies and state and federal regulations and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), as applicable to the role.

Additional responsibilities for candidates hired at the Analyst II level:

  • Independently manage the underwriting and analysis of new financing requests while maintaining responsibility for completing annual reviews.
  • Exercise sound judgment in evaluating complex borrower information and preparing credit approval recommendations.
  • Serve as a resource to junior analysts and interns by answering questions and modeling best practices in credit analysis and documentation.
  • Manage assignments independently while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
