Job Description

Public Sector Compliance Analyst

US-MA-Boston

Job ID: 2026-7464
Type: Regular Full-Time
# of Openings: 1
Category: FINANCE
Remote - United States

Responsibilities
The Public Sector Compliance Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, validating, and submitting the contractually required sales, SLA, performance, and compliance reports supporting NWN's Public Sector contract vehicles. The role sits within the Sales Transformation Unit of Sales and Marketing. Public sector contract vehicles carry reporting obligations that are contractual rather than discretionary, including those supporting CALNET CEM requirements. An inaccurate or late submission is a compliance exposure rather than an internal inconvenience. The role is accountable for the accuracy of submissions and for the controls and documentation needed to substantiate prior submissions during an audit. The role works across Operations, Finance, Billing, Sales, Service Delivery, and Compliance to source and validate data, resolve discrepancies, and mitigate contractual risk. Success means every required report is complete and submitted on time, discrepancies are traced to their source, reporting withstands audit without reconstruction, and manual effort is reduced through automation as the portfolio grows.
  • Manage recurring contract reporting obligations, including sales, usage, compliance, and performance reports for public sector contracts.
  • Own the reporting calendar and ensure every contractually required submission is delivered complete and on time, escalating deadline risks early enough to be addressed.
  • Analyze and validate data from multiple business systems to ensure reporting accuracy and contractual compliance.
  • Develop, maintain, and submit service-level agreement, outage, performance, and compliance reports, including those supporting CALNET CEM obligations.
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies, compliance concerns, and data quality issues, and coordinate corrective actions with internal stakeholders.
  • Trace recurring data quality issues to their source system or process and drive a durable fix with the responsible team.
  • Create and maintain reporting procedures, controls, documentation, and audit-support materials.
  • Track changes to contract reporting requirements as vehicles are amended, renewed, or added, and update reporting, procedures, and controls before the next submission cycle.
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and quality review for internal teams and third-party reporting resources.
  • Support contract audits, compliance reviews, and customer or manufacturer reporting requirements, maintaining the records and evidence needed to substantiate prior submissions.
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Billing, Sales, Service Delivery, and Compliance teams to mitigate risk and maintain contractual compliance.
  • Maintain accountability for the accuracy and completeness of submitted reports.
  • Resolve discrepancies at their source rather than correcting the same defect each reporting cycle.
  • Reduce manual reporting effort through automation as the contract portfolio grows.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Demonstrated comfort with adopting emerging AI tools and technologies to optimize processes, improve collaboration, and drive operational effectiveness.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a data analytics role.
  • Experience supporting contractual or regulatory reporting obligations where a missed or inaccurate submission carries a financial or compliance penalty.
  • Experience supporting CALNET or comparable state or federal contract vehicles preferred.
  • Hands-on experience building reports and dashboards in ServiceNow, rather than only consuming them, preferred.
  • Experience in a telecommunications, IT services, or managed services environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of public sector contract compliance and contract sales reporting, including CALNET contract requirements and service-level agreement reporting.
  • ServiceNow reporting and data analysis, with experience using Power BI or comparable reporting tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, including reporting automation, and proficiency across Microsoft Office products.
  • Data reconciliation, audit support, and root cause analysis.
  • Process documentation and workflow design, with the ability to develop and execute efficient, repeatable business processes.
  • Strong conceptual thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong relationship, negotiation, persuasion, and influence skills across functions where the role has no direct authority.
  • Strong organization and management skills.
  • A hands-on, self-directed approach with a bias toward action and personal accountability.
  • Ability to provide guidance and quality review to internal teams and third-party reporting resources without formal supervisory responsibility.
