Columbia Industries is seeking a hands-on Field Service Representative with strong hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. If you take pride in diagnosing the problem, making a quality repair, and getting equipment back into service, we want to hear from you.

This role combines independent field work with support from our Service, Engineering, Sales, and Production teams. You’ll represent Columbia Industries at customer locations, lead service assignments, and help customers operate and maintain their equipment confidently.

The position is based remotely and requires domestic and international travel. Support at our Mississippi plant may also be required on an as-needed basis when not traveling or assigned to a customer site.

  • · Diagnose pressure loss, slow or erratic movement, overheating, and internal or external leaks.
  • · Identify tube fittings, select proper replacements, and fabricate tube and crimped hose assemblies.
  • · Prevent and repair leaks, apply contamination-control practices, and safely service and charge accumulators.

Electrical

  • · Read electrical circuit diagrams and use multimeters to diagnose equipment faults.
  • · Troubleshoot and repair wiring, connectors, and electrical components.
  • · Apply basic electrical knowledge and follow safe diagnostic and repair procedures.

Mechanical and Diesel

  • · Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical and diesel systems.
  • · Interpret blueprints, technical instructions, and scopes of work.
  • · Safely use and maintain hand tools and power tools.
  • · Use dial calipers and micrometers to measure and evaluate components.

Welding and Equipment Operation

  • · Apply welding skills, including 4G GMAW and 4G SMAW qualifications, as applicable.
  • · Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, yard trucks, and other company equipment according to training and authorization requirements.

What Makes You a Strong Fit

You can work independently without losing sight of the team. You communicate clearly, keep customers informed, and know when to seek additional support. You take ownership of your work, welcome feedback, and help others succeed.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • · Remains professional, courteous, and composed under pressure.
  • · Explains technical information effectively and demonstrates presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • · Adapts to changing schedules, customer work scopes, and company procedures.
  • · Learns quickly and continues developing welding, hydraulic, electrical, and inspection skills.
