Position Summary:

The Director of Home Build Procurement and In-Kind Giving is responsible for developing and executing strategies to secure, manage, and maximize all purchase products for Construction and in-kind product donations that support home construction programs and ReStore operations. This position leads the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate and community partners who can provide donated building materials, construction supplies, appliances, tools, furniture, and other products. Working collaboratively with construction, development, ReStore, and operations teams, the Director will ensure a consistent pipeline of donated goods that reduce build costs, increase ReStore revenue, and strengthen community partnerships. The role combines strategic relationship management, procurement leadership, inventory planning, and operational coordination to maximize mission impact.

Key Responsibilities:

In-Kind Procurement Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy for securing donated products that support home construction, organizational operations, and ReStore sales.
  • Identify new sources of product donations from manufacturers, distributors, retailers, contractors, builders, suppliers, and local businesses.
  • Lead negotiations and agreements related to product donations, surplus inventory, and strategic partnerships.
  • Monitor market trends and industry opportunities to increase donated resources and reduce construction costs.
  • Work closely with the Development team to integrate in-kind giving opportunities into broader fundraising strategies.

Home Build Product Acquisition

  • Partner with construction leadership to understand material requirements and procurement priorities for upcoming home builds.
  • Secure donations of construction materials, appliances, fixtures, tools, and specialty products needed for housing projects.
  • Coordinate donation timing and logistics to align with construction schedules and project milestones.
  • Track and report cost savings generated through donated materials.
  • Maintain strong relationships with national and local vendors supporting build activities

ReStore Product Development

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with retailers, manufacturers, home improvement stores, contractors, and property management organizations to support ReStore donation sourcing
  • Collaborate with ReStore leadership to align donation efforts with inventory needs and sales trends.
  • Evaluate opportunities for recurring donation programs and large-scale inventory acquisitions.
  • Support initiatives that increase revenue through enhanced product sourcing.

Operations and Logistics

  • Develop systems for tracking in-kind donations, inventory value, donor information, and program impact.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, construction, and ReStore teams to facilitate efficient receipt and distribution of donated goods.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies regarding gift acceptance, inventory management, and donor reporting.
  • Prepare regular reports on donation activity, value received, cost avoidance, and return on investment.
Requirements:
  • At least 10 years' related experience required.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
