Registered Nurse (RN) PRN - Vascular Access

Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road TX.
Work hours: PRN - Day Shift; 7:00am - 7:00 pm
Vascular Access Department Highlights:

Here's What You Need
• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required
• BSN preferred
• 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting (Required)
• Previous Vascular Access Team (VAT) experience (Strongly Preferred)
• RN - Registered Nurse (Required upon hire)
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required prior to providing independent patient care; maintained quarterly)
• Current proficiency with ultrasound guided IV insertion, midline placement, and/or PICC placement
• Experience providing vascular access services across multiple patient care settings
What You Will Do
• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant other's need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers.
