Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION

The Commercial Loan Processor & Servicer is responsible for management of the operational details related to processing, closing, funding, and servicing of all types of commercial loans in coordination with commercial lenders.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES

1) Work collaboratively with commercial lenders to manage the commercial loan closing process for new, renewed, and modified loans to ensure accuracy that all closing requirements are met as directed in the loan approval, clearing loan to close, and meeting committed closing dates. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operation controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated.

2) Review all closed loans for compliance and ensure all system input is accurate. Ensure correct lien position on all collateral. Ensure all documents are saved electronically.

3) Maintain professional communications with third party service providers giving consideration to established turnaround standards to facilitate loan closings and ensure deadlines are met.

4) Provide service to existing and prospective business members directly and indirectly via email, telephone, and in person. Provide service to WEOKIE partners inquires as needed.

5) Perform general office duties such as mail processing/distribution, purchasing and ordering items as directed, make copies, send faxes, process invoices, and prepare various correspondences.

CRITICAL RESULTS

1) Member issues are given first priority and escalated when necessary. Consistent and reliable communication is the key to success for the position.

2) Member-owners and partners receive a consistently superior level of service and attention from the Credit Union. Ensures the expectations of member-owners who use Commercial Lending are met or exceeded by:

a. Phone and email inquiries are returned the same day and at minimum within 24 hours.

b. Maintains a scheduled weekly communication with commercial lenders to review loan pipeline activity and established closing dates. Third party turnaround times are tracked and reported to the commercial lender weekly.

c. Proactively works with assigned Commercial Lenders to coordinate the renewal of maturing loans or modifications.

3) Work performed with a high level of accuracy including written and verbal communications.

4) Commercial loan files are kept updated and organized according to established guidelines.

5) All activities are efficiently conducted, generally error free, and are completed following the appropriate policies, procedures, operational controls, and compliance controls.

6) Losses, errors, and risks are controlled and mitigated by adhering to all applicable policies and procedures.

7) The Processor establishes credibility with members and partners by demonstrating appropriate product and process knowledge.

8) All loans shall be processed accurately and expeditiously. The following metrics are required:

a. Appropriate third party services associated with the loan closing are ordered promptly upon receipt of signed commitment letter or at lender's request.

b. All loans to be funded will be disbursed within 1 business day.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills:

1) A high school diploma, with post-secondary work in English, secretarial studies or business, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

2) Demonstrated aptitude and ability to learn and apply various software applications to office operations required.

3) Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbally & written.

4) Experience in an office environment, preferably utilizing clerical skills, required.

5) Customer Service experience required.

6) General understanding of loan processing, experience in commercial lending preferred.

7) Experience in a financial institution preferred.
