This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a SCM Engineer in India.
This role plays a key part in ensuring robust vendor governance and smooth supply chain operations within large-scale engineering and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for managing vendor onboarding, risk assessment, and compliance activities through SAP Ariba, ensuring all suppliers meet required standards before procurement execution. The position requires close coordination with global vendors and internal procurement teams to maintain an accurate and up-to-date supplier database. You will also contribute to RFQ processes, documentation validation, and ongoing vendor performance monitoring. This is a detail-oriented and process-driven role where accuracy, compliance, and timely execution are critical. You will operate in a collaborative, international environment supporting complex substation and energy projects.
In this role, you will ensure effective vendor management and supply chain compliance through structured onboarding, risk evaluation, and procurement support activities:
- Manage vendor onboarding processes in SAP Ariba, including initiating supplier requests and tracking completion.
- Verify and validate supplier documentation during onboarding to ensure compliance with internal standards.
- Conduct vendor risk assessments and evaluate supplier eligibility within SAP Ariba systems.
- Maintain and regularly update the global vendor master list to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure all vendor onboarding requirements are completed prior to purchase order issuance.
- Perform periodic reviews of supplier-submitted mandatory documents to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Support RFQ processes by issuing requests and tracking vendor responses within defined timelines.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in supply chain operations, vendor management, and procurement systems, along with good technical and analytical skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification with 5–10+ years of relevant experience.
- 5–10 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or vendor onboarding roles.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP Ariba or similar procurement/vendor management platforms.
- Good understanding of electrical equipment and engineering supply chain environments.
- Ability to perform vendor risk analysis and manage compliance documentation effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and process discipline.
- Fluent communication skills in English, with ability to work in global, cross-functional teams.
