Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Geospatial AI/ML Engineer in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge machine learning and large-scale geospatial intelligence, focusing on transforming vast satellite and sensor datasets into actionable insights about global activity. You will work on advanced AI models leveraging multi-modal data such as Electro-Optical, Multi-Spectral Imaging, and Synthetic Aperture Radar. The environment is highly technical, research-driven, and deeply mission-oriented, with strong emphasis on AI-first development practices. You will contribute to end-to-end ML systems, from data curation and model design to deployment and continuous optimization. This is a highly collaborative role, working alongside engineers, scientists, and product teams in a fast-paced, innovation-focused setting. The work directly supports real-world applications that help understand and monitor environmental and global changes at scale.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning models for geospatial intelligence using EO, MSI, and SAR datasets, including multi-modal architectures, vision transformers, and embedding-based approaches.
- Own the full ML lifecycle, from data ingestion and preprocessing to model training, evaluation, production deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement.
- Solve complex, ambiguous geospatial and AI challenges, translating large-scale data into actionable insights aligned with broader product and organizational goals.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to guide technical direction, influence roadmap decisions, and ensure models meet both scientific and production requirements.
- Apply AI-assisted development workflows and modern tooling to improve productivity and accelerate experimentation and delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or geospatial algorithm development in an industry setting.
- Strong expertise in machine learning fundamentals, including deep learning, unsupervised and semi-supervised methods, and statistical modeling.
- Hands-on experience working with large-scale datasets and production ML systems.
- Solid understanding of computer vision techniques, multi-modal data processing, and spatial or geospatial data concepts.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage ambiguity, and make technically sound decisions in complex environments.
- Strong programming skills (commonly Python) and familiarity with modern ML frameworks and cloud or distributed computing environments.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering and scientific teams.
- Competitive base salary ranging from approximately $142,800 to $178,500 USD (varies by location and experience)
- Equity and potential performance-based incentives
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
- Health Savings Account (HSA) with company contribution
- Generous paid time off, holidays, and company-wide breaks
- 16 weeks of paid parental leave
- Home office stipend and monthly phone/internet reimbursement
- Tuition reimbursement and access to online learning platforms
- Wellness programs and employee assistance support
- Volunteering paid time off and commuter benefits (where applicable)
- Flexible, remote-first work environment
