Automotive Shop Hand in DuBois, Pennsylvania at Delaney Automotive

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Shop Hand is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. This role supports daily shop operations by handling cleaning tasks, organizing tools and materials, and managing waste and scrap.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/DUTIES:

• Clean and maintain shop floors, work areas, and equipment
• Organize tools, parts, and supplies to ensure easy access and efficiency
• Sort, remove, and dispose of garbage, recycling, and scrap materials properly
• Operate a forklift to move materials, equipment, and scrap safely (certification preferred)
• Assist with loading and unloading materials
• Assist with inventory organization and basic stock management
• Support skilled workers with general labor tasks as needed
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Basic understanding of shop tools and equipment (preferred but not required)
• Reliable and able to follow instructions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Fast-paced shop setting
• May involve exposure to dust, noise, and machinery
