Monitors test operations in support of Warheads testing to include the responsibility of conducting preliminary studies including the testing and evaluation of warheads, fuses, and related components. Areas of responsibility will include test setup, preparation and firing of explosive items, assembly and disassembly of explosive items, modification of explosive items and the proper handling and disposition of explosive items. Performs grounds maintenance in Warhead Impact Target (WIT) areas, to include the operation of specially armored road graders to remove and abate the WIT area vegetation.
Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level test control technicians. Work is spot-checked for accuracy. May be assigned other duties within his or her capabilities. Work will include cross-utilization into other jobs as required. May require some overtime and/or weekend work.
