Job Title: Phlebotomist

A sign-on bonus of $1,500 is available for an experienced Phlebotomist.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain phlebotomy stations and trays – ensure all stations are properly supplied and sanitary
  • Greet patients in a courteous manner, ensuring you are serving the correct patient by performing Positive Patient ID (PPID)
  • Use proper technique in obtaining blood samples, understanding the need to seek help after 2 missed tries
  • Dispose of used needles in the appropriate containers, ensuring needles are never re-capped
  • Use time between tests efficiently: perform office work, assist technical staff, put away supplies, submit laboratory charges, scan patient results into the Laboratory Information System, and complete other duties as necessary
  • Seek information or ask for assistance from appropriate personnel regarding patients who present difficulties

What We’re Looking For:

Required:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Completion of phlebotomy certification program or Medical Assistant course
  • Good customer service/interpersonal skills; detail-oriented; have good manual dexterity

Preferred:

  • At least 3 months’ phlebotomy experience
  • Experience in a hospital setting preferred
  • Certification through national credentialing association such as American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians
