Job Description

Manager:3rd East (Psychiatry)

The Unit Manager is a nurse leader who provides direction, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care for assigned area on a 24-hour bases. He/she maintains current knowledge regarding techniques, skills, current practices, and regulations for the age and populations of patients served. He/she manages all personnel, supplies, and equipment necessary to facilitate quality patient care. Also functions as a Staff RN occasionally. Overall responsibility is to drive a medically managed acute care psychiatric system assuring a state of the art therapeutic milieu accompanies the provision of medically managed services.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
  1. Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  2. Currently licensed as an RN with Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Credential (BC) in North Carolina
  3. Bachelors Science Nursing
  4. Minimum of 3-5 years recent clinical nursing management experience in a psychiatric setting.
  5. BLS and NCI within 3 months of hire.
Demonstrated supervisory skills.
