This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Executive Director – Central Head of DevSecOps based in the United States.
This executive leadership role is responsible for defining and driving the global DevSecOps strategy, standards, and operating model across a complex, distributed enterprise environment. The position oversees platform engineering, DevOps, and application security functions spanning cloud and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and highly automated delivery of enterprise systems. The role has significant influence over the organization’s technical security posture, secure SDLC practices, and infrastructure reliability at scale. It requires close partnership with cybersecurity, IT leadership, and business stakeholders to align architecture, tooling, and governance across global teams. The Executive Director will lead highly technical, geographically distributed teams while shaping the roadmap for next-generation cloud-native platforms and security frameworks. This is a hands-on strategic leadership role in a fast-evolving environment where operational excellence, compliance, and innovation must be continuously balanced.
- Lead and define the global DevSecOps strategy, overseeing platform engineering, DevOps, and application security across all subsidiaries and technology environments.
- Manage and develop distributed teams of DevOps Engineers, AppSec Engineers, and external partners, ensuring consistent execution of global standards and practices.
- Establish and evolve enterprise-wide DevSecOps tooling, automation frameworks, and cloud architecture roadmaps across multiple cloud providers and on-premises systems.
- Drive secure SDLC practices, including application security scanning, code hygiene, container security, and infrastructure-as-code implementation.
- Define KPIs and performance metrics to measure DevSecOps effectiveness, operational maturity, and security posture across teams and platforms.
- Oversee CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and release processes to ensure scalable, reliable, and secure software delivery.
- Partner with Cybersecurity, IT, and business leadership to align on architecture decisions, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure robust cloud operations across platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Alibaba Cloud, including identity, access management, monitoring, and threat detection.
- Lead incident response, troubleshooting frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system resilience and performance.
- Mentor technical leaders and engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning across global teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience leading large, distributed DevOps and DevSecOps organizations in enterprise or global environments.
- Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, including containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Deep understanding of application security practices, including SAST, DAST, SCA, container security, and secure SDLC methodologies.
- Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud) and related security and infrastructure services.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps tooling such as GitHub, Jira, Confluence, and automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, Go, or Bash.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage global teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making capabilities in complex technical environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
