This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SCM Engineer based in India.
This role sits at the heart of global supply chain operations, ensuring the integrity, compliance, and efficiency of vendor onboarding and procurement processes. You will play a key role in maintaining a high-quality and up-to-date supplier database while supporting strategic sourcing activities across international projects. The position involves close collaboration with procurement, engineering, and vendor management teams, with a strong focus on risk assessment and regulatory compliance. You will work within a structured digital procurement environment, leveraging SAP Ariba to manage supplier workflows and RFQs. This is a highly operational yet analytical role where accuracy, consistency, and governance directly impact project execution and supply chain performance. It offers exposure to large-scale infrastructure and energy-related procurement activities in a dynamic, global setting.
- Manage end-to-end vendor onboarding processes in SAP Ariba, including initiation of supplier requests and workflow tracking
- Verify and validate supplier prequalification documentation during onboarding to ensure compliance with internal standards
- Conduct vendor risk assessments using SAP Ariba tools and maintain updated risk profiles
- Maintain and update the global approved vendor list, ensuring completeness before purchase order issuance
- Perform periodic reviews of mandatory supplier documentation to ensure ongoing compliance and accuracy
- Launch RFQs, coordinate vendor submissions, and ensure timely receipt of offers within procurement deadlines
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support smooth supplier lifecycle management and procurement operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical) or equivalent technical qualification
- 5–10+ years of experience in supply chain, vendor onboarding, or procurement functions
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Ariba or similar procurement platforms
- Good understanding of electrical equipment and technical procurement environments
- Proven experience in vendor management, supplier qualification, and risk assessment processes
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and process discipline
- Fluent in English with strong communication and coordination abilities across teams
