Job Summary:
Hospital operating room (OR) supply chain coordinators, including titles of buyer, OR coordinator, and perioperative coordinator manage the procurement, inventory, replenishment and tracking of supplies and inventory needed for surgical procedures,
The role focuses on ensuring the OR is fully stocked, cost-efficient, compliant, and prepared for daily surgeries without delay,
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent,
Additional Education Preferred: Some college,
Licensure Required: No
Additional Licensure Preferred: No
Experience Required: Two to three years of hospital supply chain operations,
Experience Preferred: No
Job Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain inventory levels of surgical supplies and implants, coordinate supply ordering, stocking, and distribution for the OR,
2,
Collaborate with nursing leaders, staff, and vendors to ensure product availability,
3,
Ensure expired, damaged, or recalled items are removed and managed promptly,
4,
Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations; analyze usage trends to reduce waste and improve efficiency; maintain accurate inventory and PAR levels in PeopleSoft using data to drive PARs,
5,
Manage and track implants using the UDI tracker,
6,
Reviews OR booking sheets and plans supply procurement accordingly,
7,
Process Bill Only requisitions withing established time frame; monitors STAT requisitions to avoid increased cost,
8,
Resolve back orders and shortages by collaborating with clinical team for clinically approved substitutes or replacements,
9,
Conducts documented inventory audits and rounding,
10,
Support emergency supply requests and replenishment needs,
11,
Maintain compliance with hospital and department policies, safety standards, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements,
12,
Performs all other duties as assigned,
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Working knowledge healthcare inventory systems,

Knowledge of surgical supplies and sterile procedures,

Strong organizational, communication and critical thinking skills,

Ability to work in fast-paced clinical environment,

Excel and supply management software proficiency
