Description:

Ecoat.us is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Logistics Supervisor – Shipping & Receiving to oversee daily shipping, receiving, dock, and material movement operations at our Mission, TX facility. This position is responsible for ensuring customer materials are received, documented, staged, shipped, and handled accurately, safely, and on time.

The Logistics Supervisor will lead shipping and receiving personnel, coordinate with production, customer service, quality, carriers, and customers, and help maintain accurate records in company systems. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, along with the ability to keep work moving in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily shipping and receiving activities, including inbound materials, outbound shipments, customer pickups, staging, loading, unloading, and dock organization.
  • Coordinate with production, customer service, quality, warehouse personnel, carriers, vendors, and customers to schedule deliveries and shipments.
  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing materials are accurately counted, inspected, documented, labeled, and entered into the appropriate company systems.
  • Verify bills of lading, packing slips, customer paperwork, shipment records, and receiving documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor inventory movement, material staging areas, and shipment readiness to support production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged materials, missing paperwork, late pickups, carrier delays, and receiving issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, customer pickups, returns, and inventory movement.
  • Ensure materials are handled safely to prevent damage before, during, and after processing.
  • Support on-time delivery goals by coordinating priorities with production and customer service.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping, receiving, dock, and staging areas.
  • Train, coach, and support shipping and receiving employees on company procedures, documentation requirements, safety rules, and quality expectations.
  • Monitor employee performance, attendance, work assignments, and daily productivity within the shipping and receiving area.
  • Enforce company safety policies, PPE requirements, forklift procedures, and proper material handling practices.
  • Work with Quality when incoming or outgoing material appears damaged, nonconforming, mislabeled, or incomplete.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce delays, improve dock flow, prevent documentation errors, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate issues, delays, manpower needs, equipment concerns, and process improvements to management in a timely manner.
  • Assist with audits, customer documentation requests, and internal record reviews as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in logistics, shipping, receiving, warehouse, dock operations, manufacturing, or industrial material handling.
  • Prior supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and understand shipping documents, packing slips, bills of lading, purchase orders, and customer paperwork.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with production, office staff, customers, vendors, and carriers.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond quickly to delays, discrepancies, or changing production needs.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use company systems for tracking, documentation, and communication.
  • Ability to follow and enforce safety, quality, and company procedures.
  • Forklift experience preferred; forklift certification or ability to become certified may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, coatings, metal processing, HVAC, oil and gas, or industrial service environments.
  • Experience with inventory management systems, ERP systems, Baserow, production tracking systems, or shipping software.
  • Knowledge of customer pickup coordination, carrier scheduling, freight claims, and shipment documentation.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Experience training employees and improving workflow processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or quality management system requirements is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials as required by the job, within safe lifting guidelines.
  • Ability to work around forklifts, cranes, production equipment, trucks, trailers, and industrial materials.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, humidity, chemicals, and moving equipment.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other equipment as required.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a manufacturing, warehouse, dock, and shipping/receiving environment. The role requires frequent coordination with production areas, office personnel, customers, truck drivers, and vendors. The Logistics Supervisor must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change throughout the day.

Schedule

Full-time schedule based on facility needs. Overtime, weekends, or adjusted hours may be required depending on production schedules, customer pickups, carrier availability, and business needs.
