This role sits at the intersection of renewable energy consulting, power systems modeling, and advanced energy market analytics, supporting strategic decision-making for complex energy transition projects. The position focuses on delivering high-impact advisory services to renewable developers, combining technical modeling expertise with client-facing consulting responsibilities. It requires deep analytical capability to evaluate transmission networks, energy markets, and pricing dynamics across evolving power systems. The consultant will build and interpret sophisticated simulations to support long-term projections for energy, capacity, and ancillary services markets. The role also involves working directly with senior client stakeholders, translating complex technical findings into actionable insights and strategic recommendations. This is a highly specialized position that blends engineering rigor, data analysis, and advisory leadership within the renewable energy sector.
- Provide advanced consulting support to renewable energy developers, delivering strategic insights and best-practice advisory services
- Develop and maintain production cost models, including renewable, storage, and hybrid energy asset simulations
- Perform nodal and zonal power system analysis, including load flow studies, contingency analysis, and transmission constraint evaluation
- Analyze and interpret large-scale energy datasets to support market simulation and pricing studies
- Develop long-term forecasts for electricity markets, including energy, capacity, renewable energy credits, and ancillary services
- Prepare client-facing reports, presentations, and visualizations communicating complex modeling results and recommendations
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve simulation tools, methodologies, and analytics capabilities
- Identify project risks, evaluate technical issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure delivery quality
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Energy Science, Operations Research, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 1+ year of experience
- Strong experience in production cost modeling and energy market simulation tools such as PROMOD
- Solid understanding of electric transmission systems, including power flow analysis, constraints, outages, and contingency modeling
- Ability to interpret one-line electrical diagrams and assess transmission network behavior
- Proficiency in Python for data processing, modeling, and visualization of energy market simulations
- Advanced Excel skills for managing, analyzing, and organizing large datasets
- Experience working with locational marginal pricing (LMP) and electricity market fundamentals
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative modeling skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to senior stakeholders and clients
- Experience in consulting or client-facing technical advisory roles preferred
