Business Development Manager - German Speaking

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Manager – German Speaking based in Netherlands.

This is a high-impact commercial role within a fast-scaling global B2B marketplace transforming how jewellery businesses access and trade diamonds and gemstones. You will be responsible for driving customer acquisition, onboarding, and long-term account growth across the DACH region, acting as both a trusted advisor and commercial partner to your clients. The role blends strategic sales execution with relationship management, where every interaction contributes to expanding customer value and platform adoption. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including SDRs, customer success, and product, ensuring a seamless and data-driven customer journey. Operating in a high-growth, international environment, you will play a key role in shaping how independent jewellers and retailers scale their businesses. Success in this role means consistently converting prospects into loyal, high-value customers while deepening engagement over time.

Accountabilities:
  • Drive end-to-end sales ownership across the DACH region, from prospecting and onboarding to expansion and retention
  • Engage and convert high-potential prospects by crafting tailored value propositions and commercial narratives
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships as a trusted advisor focused on customer success and ROI
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to expand account value and increase platform engagement
  • Collaborate closely with SDRs, account managers, and customer success teams to ensure seamless customer journeys
  • Manage pipeline activity using CRM tools, ensuring accurate forecasting, tracking, and performance reporting
  • Leverage data and key metrics such as retention, GMV, ARPU, and LTV to refine sales strategies and improve outcomes
  • Provide structured feedback to product and internal teams to support platform improvements and customer experience enhancements
  • Contribute to a culture of high performance, ownership, and continuous commercial improvement
Requirements:
  • Fluent in German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages
  • 4+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or customer-facing commercial roles
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving measurable revenue growth
  • Experience selling into or managing accounts in the DACH region is essential
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and consultative selling skills
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving priorities
  • Proficiency with CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar platforms for pipeline management
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to use metrics to guide decision-making and strategy
  • Bonus: experience in marketplaces, SaaS, luxury goods, or tech-enabled industries
  • Bonus: additional European language skills such as French, Italian, Spanish, or Dutch
