Job Description

SUMMARY

The Director of Admissions provides strategic, innovative, and mission-driven leadership across Undergraduate, Graduate, and International Admissions. The role designs, implements, and assesses a comprehensive recruitment and admissions strategy that supports the University’s enrollment goals and long-term sustainability. The Director ensures that all recruitment and admissions operations reflect the University’s mission, vision, and values while strengthening institutional visibility, brand awareness, and marketing position. This position collaborates extensively with academic and administrative units to advance a student-centered, data-informed, and equity-minded enrollment strategy that supports the success of diverse student populations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and manage recruitment strategies to increase new student enrollment
  • Lead and manage the admissions team, emphasizing teamwork, collegiality, accountability, and student-centric results.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Slate CRM, provide training for CRM users, troubleshoot CRM issues, and improve the student onboarding process.
  • Plans and manages recruitment budgets for the Livonia campus and satellite locations.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing enrollment marketing and communication plans, including print, web, communication, and digital media.
  • Manages and develops all undergraduate and graduate recruitment data, including JRM, Jenzabar (module manager), document management systems, and other data quality projects.
  • In conjunction with Marketing, Institutional Research, faculty, and other departments, assists with analyzing institutional data, research, and planning to support recruitment, retention, and other programming.
  • Collaborate closely with the academic deans and department chairs to develop a comprehensive enrollment/marketing plan and implement and assess recruitment strategies to meet/exceed enrollment targets for undergraduate and graduate admissions.
  • Identifies enrollment-related research and market analysis needs.
  • Develop and implement forward-thinking communications and marketing strategies designed to meet enrollment targets
  • Works with institutional data to track, monitor, and achieve recruitment and enrollment goals and objectives.
  • Oversees and participates in campus visit programs on- and off-campus, including extended office hours
  • Participate in the Strategic Enrollment Management & Retention Committee and implement recruitment/enrollment goals.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree in education, business, or related major from an accredited four-year college or university with 5-7 years of experience in higher education, enrollment management required. Master’s degree in education, business, or related major from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, use whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
