Position Statement: Responsible for processing, distributing, and storing washable linens and garments. Tasks include washing, ironing, folding, inspecting, and fabricating specialty items. Our laundry workers are a key player to the overall patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate laundry equipment including tumblers, dryers, and washers.
- Sort and inspect laundry for cleanliness and damage.
- Fold and store clean linen appropriately.
- Maintain cleanliness of laundry area and equipment.
- Log laundry activities and maintain records.
- Drive company van for deliveries (requires valid VT driver’s license).
- Ensure proper handling of specialty items and garments.
- Follow safety protocols and wear protective clothing.
- Assist with inventory management of linens and supplies.
- Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
- 3–6 months of related experience preferred.
- Valid Vermont driver’s license with clean record (if driving).
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a warm climate and wearing protective clothing.
- Ability to work with other team members in a professional and respectful manner.
