This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced software engineering professional to contribute to the development of secure, scalable, and mission-critical enterprise applications supporting federal and defense-related initiatives. Working within a collaborative and Agile environment, you will play a key role across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and architecture through deployment and sustainment. The position offers the chance to work with modern technologies, cloud environments, and application modernization efforts while solving complex technical challenges. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions that support operational objectives and long-term strategic goals. - Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise software applications and services that support critical business and mission requirements.
- Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing sustainment activities.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, analysts, stakeholders, and end users to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, backend services, and application components that support enterprise operations and interoperability.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
- Ensure software solutions meet security, scalability, maintainability, and performance standards.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical standards, and software engineering best practices to maintain high-quality development processes.
- Support cloud-based and hybrid application environments while contributing to modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, system specifications, and user documentation.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with security requirements, risk management practices, and secure coding principles.
- Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, production deployments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- 9+ years of professional software development and application engineering experience.
- Strong experience designing and developing enterprise applications using modern programming languages, frameworks, and software development methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with APIs, web services, application integrations, and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, secure coding practices, and development best practices.
- Experience working within Agile software development environments.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Ability to successfully complete background investigation requirements.
- Preferred experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Federal Government programs.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience working with microservices architectures, containerized environments, and modern application deployment models.
- Knowledge of federal business processes and mission-support systems is considered an advantage.
