We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead, maintain, and elevate our environmental health and safety programs across a comprehensive metal fabrication and concrete production environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Safety & Facilities Manager to lead our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), facilities, and maintenance functions while ensuring a safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient manufacturing environment.

This leadership role is responsible for developing a strong safety culture, maintaining facility infrastructure, improving equipment reliability, managing maintenance personnel and contractors, and supporting continuous operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Health & Safety

  • Lead and continuously improve Fulcrum's Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, Oregon OSHA, EPA, fire codes, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and administer safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct new employee safety orientation and ongoing safety training, including Hearing Conservation, Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory Protection, Hazard Communication, First Aid/CPR, Fire Extinguisher training, and emergency response.
  • Maintain OSHA records, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), incident documentation, and regulatory reporting.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), workplace inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Chair the Safety Committee and lead monthly company-wide safety meetings.
  • Monitor PPE compliance and oversee required equipment inspections.

Facilities Management

  • Oversee all facility operations, including building systems, HVAC, electrical, compressed air, water, security, lighting, grounds, waste management, and environmental compliance.
  • Coordinate facility repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and capital improvement projects.
  • Manage outside contractors, vendors, utility providers, and service agreements.
  • Maintain facility readiness for customer visits, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Develop annual facility maintenance plans and budgets.

Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

  • Lead preventative and predictive maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel and coordinate outside service providers.
  • Maintain equipment records, spare parts inventory, and maintenance schedules.
  • Improve equipment uptime, reliability, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
  • Support installation, commissioning, relocation, and decommissioning of manufacturing equipment.

Emergency Preparedness & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead emergency response planning, evacuation procedures, business continuity planning, and facility emergency preparedness.
  • Maintain emergency equipment including fire extinguishers, AEDs, first aid stations, and spill response supplies.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs related to safety, maintenance, equipment reliability, and facility performance.

Qualifications

Education

Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing safety, facilities, or maintenance.
  • Experience within a metal fabrication, machining, welding, or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing preventative maintenance programs, contractors, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, machine guarding, Lockout/Tagout, hazard assessments, and facility systems.

Preferred Certifications

  • OSHA 30
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • First Aid/CPR Instructor
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS preferred).
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

  • Physically demanding tasks on a on fast-paced shop floor environment.
  • Exposure to active manufacturing zones involving welding, machining, metal prep, powder coating, concrete casting/grinding, and heavy equipment operations.
  • Physically demanding tasks on a on fast-paced shop floor environment.
  • PPE required, including safety glasses, hearing protection, respiratory protection, and gloves, provided by the company.

The pay range for this role is:
75,000 - 85,000 USD per year(Tualatin HQ)
