LOCATION: : Remote Long Range Radar Sites located in Saglek Bay, NL (LAB-2) and/or Cartwright, NL (LAB-6)
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret

Where You Will Be Working
Nasittuq supports operations across the North Warning System (NWS), a network of remote sites located throughout Canada's Arctic. Working in the North offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure while experiencing some of the country's most remote and remarkable landscapes.

• Maintain, troubleshoot, inspect, and repair electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution systems to ensure the safe and reliable operation of critical North Warning System infrastructure.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, rectifiers, batteries, motors, bus bars, bus ducts, filters, and associated electrical equipment.
• Support the operation, maintenance, and repair of diesel power generation and distribution systems in collaboration with site maintenance teams.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems supporting building operations, including HVAC, refrigeration, water treatment, sewage disposal, fuel dispensing, airfield lighting, building lighting, food services, laundry facilities, and fire detection equipment.
• Conduct inspections, testing, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis to identify equipment issues and implement effective repair solutions.
• Maintain electrical appliances and site support equipment while ensuring compliance with safety regulations, operational standards, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to site personnel on the operation, maintenance, and safe use of electrical systems and equipment.
• Complete work orders, maintenance records, operational reports, and equipment documentation within the NWS maintenance management system.
• Travel between remote Arctic sites, including helicopter-accessible locations, to support maintenance activities and operational readiness.
• Contribute to special projects and additional maintenance initiatives that support the reliability and sustainability of site operations.
Who You Are:CREDENTIALS:
• Red Seal or Provincially Licensed Industrial Electrician (or equivalent recognized Journeyperson certification).
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
EXPERIENCE
:• Minimum 5 years of Journeyperson experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
• Experience with electrical power generation, distribution, and control systems.
• Experience supporting remote facilities, utilities, mining, power generation, defence, telecommunications, or critical infrastructure environments is considered an asset.
• Mechanical maintenance and diesel power plant experience is considered an asset.
SKILLS:
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities
• Working knowledge of diesel generators, switchgear, electrical distribution systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and electrical safety standards.
• Knowledge of fire detection and fire suppression systems is an asset.
• Strong communication, documentation, and computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small, multidisciplinary team. • Ability to work safely in physically demanding environments and challenging Arctic weather conditions.
• Must be able to work at heights, travel to remote sites, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
