The Principal, Solutions Architect will provide enterprise-level technical direction, guiding architecture decisions and leading the development of scalable technology solutions. This role will work closely with leadership and engineering teams to define strategies, improve platforms, and enable reliable software delivery.
- Own and define enterprise architecture strategy and future-state technical architecture across cloud, data, integration, and infrastructure platforms.
- Partner with senior leaders to influence technology strategy, business decisions, and long-term platform direction.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor on architecture, scalability, security, and platform decisions.
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud and on-premises infrastructure solutions.
- Provide strategic guidance to DevOps, data, integration, and infrastructure teams while promoting collaboration and innovation.
- Drive automation initiatives, including CI/CD pipeline development and infrastructure-as-code practices using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
- Design and improve monitoring, incident response, and operational processes to ensure availability, performance, and security.
- Lead the development of platform capabilities, including data and integration architecture solutions.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement cloud security best practices and maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Optimize cloud costs through resource utilization analysis, cost management, and strategic planning.
- Mentor engineers, support professional development, and foster a culture of technical excellence.
- Serve as a technology thought leader and advocate for modern engineering practices.
The ideal candidate is an experienced technology leader with deep expertise in cloud architecture, DevOps practices, and enterprise-scale systems. They should combine strong technical skills with strategic thinking, communication ability, and experience guiding complex technology initiatives.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in cloud platform engineering or related technology disciplines.
- Strong expertise with major cloud platforms and enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Deep knowledge of DevOps methodologies, automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile practices.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as microservices architectures.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable data platforms and integration solutions.
- Familiarity with big data technologies, machine learning, and AI concepts.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Experience working in greenfield environments is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator are preferred.
- Competitive base salary range of $170,000–$206,250 annually, with California-specific ranges applicable where required.
