Job Description
The Director of Rooms is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall operation, performance, and strategic direction of the Resort's Rooms Division. This position oversees the Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance departments to ensure exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, facility quality, and financial performance.
The Director of Rooms is expected to lead by example, develop department leaders, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to achieve resort objectives.

Requirements:Executive Leadership
- Provide leadership for all Rooms Division operations.
- Develop departmental leaders through coaching and mentorship.
- Establish department goals and performance expectations.
- Build a culture of accountability, professionalism, and guest-focused service.
- Participate in executive leadership meetings.
- Assist in strategic planning for the resort.
Guest Experience
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences throughout the property.
- Monitor guest satisfaction metrics and online reputation.
- Resolve high-level guest concerns.
- Develop service improvement initiatives.
- Ensure consistency in resort presentation and cleanliness.
- Front Office Oversight
- Provide leadership and support to the Front of House Manager.
- Monitor occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and forecasting.
- Ensure proper room inventory management.
- Oversee Front Desk financial controls.
- Review operational reports daily.
Housekeeping Oversight
- Ensure guest rooms and public spaces meet resort standards.
- Maintain quality assurance inspection programs.
- Monitor productivity and staffing.
- Ensure linen and supply inventories are maintained.
- Develop cleaning standards and procedures.
Maintenance Oversight
- Lead preventive maintenance programs.
- Ensure timely completion of guest room repairs.
- Oversee facility appearance and functionality.
- Coordinate capital improvement projects.
- Ensure OSHA and safety compliance.
- Monitor maintenance work order completion.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage departmental budgets.
- Monitor labor costs.
- Control operating expenses.
- Improve departmental efficiency.
- Analyze performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements.
- Maintain emergency response procedures.
- Ensure safety inspections are completed.
- Manage incident investigations involving guest rooms and facilities.
Talent Development
- Recruit, train, and retain high-performing managers.
- Conduct leadership development.
- Perform annual evaluations.
- Address employee relations issues.
- Foster a culture of engagement and accountability.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years progressive hotel leadership experience
- Minimum 2 years managing multiple hotel departments
- Resort experience strongly preferred
- Experience overseeing Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance
- Strong financial and operational management background
- Proven leadership and coaching experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred (Hospitality Management or related field)
