POSITION SUMMARY

The Configuration Manager is responsible for oversight of all assigned configuration personnel. The manager will lead a team of specialists and analysts to accurately identify, evaluate, and adequately and effectively segregate product & service configurations in accordance with regulatory, customer & organizational requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Manages time-off requests, performance management, daily operational priority setting and ensure team members are following all company policy and procedures.
  • Sets daily work requirements for the Configuration team.
  • Ensure all Configuration personnel receive the necessary on-the-job training to perform satisfactorily and develop personnel for future growth opportunities.
  • Leads and supports continuous improvement activities that are required to improve overall team performance.
  • Define and evolve the Configuration Management Plan and SOP 8.1.2 to meet changing regulatory and organizational needs.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for all internal, customer, and regulatory (FAA/EASA) audits regarding configuration.
  • Act as the final authority on complex Airworthiness Directive and Service Bulletin interpretations; proactively identify and mitigate "Quality Escapes."
  • Provide monthly metrics to leadership regarding configuration accuracy, rework rates, and department efficiency.
  • Be thoroughly familiar & maintain proficiency with inspection methods, techniques, tools & equip. used in assigned area(s)
  • Become thoroughly familiar with and implement the detailed Configuration Mgmt. Procedures outlined in CTS SOP 8.1.2
  • Ensure 227 Routing tags, Certs, and other maintenance/inspection release documents are applicable to the part(s) they are received with. (Verify P/N & S/N)
  • Review 227 Routing tags not only for closure but for completeness as well (No empty fields)
  • Review Engine Workscopes applicable to the part under review to ensure the part meets all Maint. Condition, Inspection, & Modification requirements (SV, OH, B/C, AD’s, SB’s, E.O.s, etc.)
  • After determination is made, record status of all (AD’s, SB’s, DR’s, E.O.s, etc.), on the Red Border Control Tally (Form QC 016B) “Status” column located in the RB Binder for the EMU under review
  • Copy or print Documents, Tags, Pictures, etc., that support the determination made on the
  • RB Control Tally. Number the document packages with the corresponding Doc# on the Tally they support, and insert them in proper sequence in the RB Binder
  • Resolve issues identified during the above processes through communication with the corresponding departments responsible for the issues noted
  • Assist in maintaining the OJT Records for CX Inspection personnel and inputting this information into the employees’ Training Matrix, as training is accomplished.
  • Provide feedback from time to time which could improve the Configuration Mgmt. Process

Education & Experience:

  • At minimum 2-3 years MRO experience required
  • 3 years of Jet Engine Maintenance experience required
  • 2 years of Jet Inspection and Processes experience required
  • Working knowledge of aviation records creation and review preferred
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Able to Read and Comprehend OEM Engine Manuals, IPC’s, SPM’s, AMM’s and other Approved Data
  • Able to Read and Comprehend ADs, SBs, DRs, E.O.s, etc.
  • Ability to determine part status as it relates to part condition and modification(s) level
  • Good working knowledge of computers and experience in using them
  • Proficient on the Quantum Operating System
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to make simple mathematical calculations
  • Excellent organization & management skills
  • Must have a Good Attitude, Work Well with Other Departments and be a Team Player
  • Self-Starter / Motivated / Detail Oriented / Willing to work with and manage others on the team

Working Conditions / Environment / Special Requirements

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, FAA, DOT, and State and Federal regulations.
  • As required, must have the ability to wear a mask correctly as per CDC guidelines & CTS policy.
  • Train and manage CX Inspectors to a high level of competence to ensure full compliance of SOP 8.1.2 to mitigate/eliminate Quality Escapes from the process
  • Implement a written daily routine for CX Inspectors to adhere to which includes reviewing pending issues so they can be resolved in an effective & timely manner and review EMU racks for completion
  • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required
  • Be willing and able to work additional hours to complete Configuration record packages for outgoing engines from time to time, as needed.
  • Willing to take on additional challenges that may arise from time to time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • Frequently required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb ladders/step stools
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and arms
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor settings and in varying temperatures
  • Must be able to wear protective gear as required or needed (e.g. gloves, mask, safety glasses, etc.).
