Position: Early Childhood Teacher’s Aide

Aides work in partnership with teachers to ensure classroom programs run smoothly and help provide an enriching and safe environment for students in partnership with the teacher and learning leader.

• Non-Exempt Employee Status
• 18-40 Hours per week (Part-time or Full-time)
• Reports to Early Childhood Director; Supervised by the Head Teacher
• Serves as a member of the Early Childhood Team

• 2+ years of experience working with children (classroom experience preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in direct involvement in student care and discipline
• Experience working in a school setting (preferred)
• Obtain certain ECE credits within the first year of employment
• CPR certification
• Livescan background check (fingerprints) and TB screening

• Help with check-in and pick-up procedures.
• In-class student support, active supervision, participation in daily classroom rhythms.
• Lead, direct, and organize class activities.
• Assume the role of substitute teacher in the absence of Head and Assistant Teachers.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Attend planning sessions with the classroom team.
• Openly communicate with families and staff at all levels.
• Provide input to necessary staff and student support as required on student progress and/or challenges.
• Collaborate with your supervisor on class activities and scheduling.

• Attend various school events, staff trainings, and team meetings.
• Read weekly staff and school email updates.
• Willingness to be flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in the program.
• Engage in professional development opportunities (Summer Reads, Beyond Great Books program, etc.)
• Adhere to all administrative directives and applicable SLOCA Policies, including those expressly outlined in the Wonders Field Guide and Employee Manual.

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a limited basis. Able to stand, kneel, bend, stoop, and move around campuses easily for extended periods. Able to work irregular hours to attend or support meetings, school events, etc.
