Egg Packing Machine Operator in Corfu, New York at Kreher Family Farms

The objective of the Egg Packing Machine Operator is to operate and maintain the egg packing machine, ensuring efficient and safe packing of eggs. This role involves preparing materials, monitoring the packing process, performing quality control, and adhering to safety and biosecurity protocols. JOB RESPONSIBILTIES

Work for which this position is accountable:

It is the responsibility of the Egg Packing Machine Operator to:

Preparation and Setup:

Organize materials at the start of the day, including pallets, flats and dividersSet up and prepare the egg packing machine for operationPrepare date cards for labeling packed eggs

Operation and monitoring:

Run and operate the packing machine, including any robotic componentsLoad trays and monitor conveyor belts to ensure smooth operationUse the REF system on a computer to monitor egg flow and track productionManually inspect and remove any broken or damaged eggs before they enter the packing machine

Maintenance and Safety:

Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shiftFollow all biosecurity and coworker safety protocols to ensure a safe working environmentOperate a pallet jack safely to move materials as needed

Communication and Support:

Assist other team members with supplying materials in zone 3 when requiredCommunicate any machinery issues or malfunctions to the maintenance manager promptlyMaintain radio communication with barn staff to coordinate egg supply and other operational needs

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required1+ years of work experience, in food processing plant preferred
