Job Description

AI Product Director, FinOps/ITFM

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AI Product Director, FinOps/ITFM based in the United States.

This is a high-impact, build-to-scale product leadership role focused on launching an AI-native FinOps and IT Financial Management offering.
You will own the product strategy, roadmap, positioning, packaging, and pricing for a new product pillar spanning cloud spend and AI cost and usage management.
The role combines product leadership with hands-on go-to-market execution, including design partner engagement and early customer acquisition.
You will operate as an individual contributor during the initial 0-to-1 phase, proving the product, business model, and market opportunity directly.
Your work will help establish a differentiated approach to technology cost optimization, using AI to identify waste and model business trade-offs.
As the product gains traction, the position is expected to evolve into broader go-to-market leadership and ultimately P&L ownership.
This opportunity is ideal for an entrepreneurial product leader who has repeatedly taken AI-native products from concept through commercialization and revenue growth.

Accountabilities
  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for FinOps AI / ITFM+, covering cloud spend as well as AI cost and usage management, while establishing differentiated positioning in a competitive market.
  • Define and communicate the product's value proposition, demonstrating how unified technology cost optimization can deliver measurable outcomes rather than simply adding AI capabilities to existing cost-reporting products.
  • Make end-to-end packaging and pricing decisions, including evaluating whether AI capabilities should be offered as a standalone SKU or integrated into existing ITFM/TEM offerings.
  • Develop pricing models based on customer outcomes and reasoning value, taking into account the economics of AI models and the broader value delivered to enterprise customers.
  • Lead the 0-to-1 product phase as a hands-on builder by defining the MVP, engaging design partners, validating product-market fit, testing pricing, and incorporating market feedback.
  • Personally drive early commercialization efforts, taking the product from its first revenue through meaningful ARR and establishing the foundation for scalable growth.
  • Own ICP definition, competitive positioning, sales enablement, and other go-to-market activities rather than limiting the role to traditional product roadmap management.
  • Translate early customer and market insights into product, packaging, pricing, and go-to-market decisions that support long-term growth.
  • Build the business case and operating model for the future team and go-to-market organization as the product pillar reaches scale.
  • As the business matures, transition toward broader GTM leadership for the FinOps AI pillar and eventual responsibility for its P&L.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of product leadership experience, including substantial experience building or leading AI-native products where AI, agentic workflows, reasoning, automation, or machine-learning-driven decisioning represent the core value proposition.
  • Demonstrated experience in the ITFM, TEM, FinOps, or closely adjacent market, ideally with firsthand understanding of enterprise technology cost-management platforms and how AI capabilities are packaged and monetized.
  • Proven track record taking an AI-native product from MVP through design-partner validation and into commercial revenue, ideally reaching the $0–10M revenue range.
  • Direct experience making pricing and monetization decisions for AI products, features, or agents where underlying model costs are only one component of the customer's overall value equation.
  • Demonstrated ownership of go-to-market strategy, including ICP definition, pricing and packaging, sales enablement, competitive positioning, and commercialization.
  • Ability to operate effectively as an individual contributor during a 0-to-1 phase, taking ownership of strategy and execution without relying on an established team or extensive infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise AI requirements, including auditability, governance, role-based access, explainability, security, and compliance, particularly in environments involving financial or sensitive technology data.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to connect product decisions directly to measurable business outcomes such as revenue, adoption, customer value, and growth.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, resilience, and comfort working through ambiguity while establishing a new product category and business model.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience displacing incumbent solutions during periods of ownership, acquisition, or market disruption is highly desirable.
  • Candidates whose experience is limited to traditional roadmap/backlog management, AI features without monetization ownership, or sales support without direct GTM decision-making may not be suited to this role.
Benefits
  • Salary: $200,000–$240,000 OTE.
  • Health coverage: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with employer matching.
  • Paid time off: Support for taking time away from work and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
  • Work model: Remote-first position for US-based employees.
  • Career growth: Opportunity to build a new AI/FinOps product pillar from 0-to-1 and grow into broader go-to-market and eventual P&L leadership.
  • Work environment: High-autonomy role with significant influence over product strategy, commercialization, pricing, and business growth.
  • Employment: Full-time, US-exempt position.
  • Work requirements: Primarily computer-based work requiring prolonged periods of sitting and working at a desk.
