Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Director, New Verticals Sales (Insurance) in the United States.
This is a high-impact, zero-to-one commercial leadership role focused on building and scaling a new insurance vertical within a fast-growing fintech environment. You will define and execute the go-to-market strategy for embedded payment flexibility in the auto insurance ecosystem, shaping how carriers, agencies, and insurtech partners engage with new financial infrastructure. The role requires a strong blend of strategic vision and hands-on enterprise sales execution, with responsibility for building pipeline, closing complex deals, and driving partnerships from concept to launch. You will operate at executive level with senior stakeholders across insurance organizations, translating market needs into scalable commercial opportunities. Working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Finance, you will influence both product direction and market positioning. This is a highly autonomous role for a builder who thrives in ambiguity and wants to define a new category within insurance payments.
- Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for the auto insurance vertical, identifying high-value carrier, agency, and insurtech segments and building a scalable pipeline.
- Lead end-to-end enterprise sales cycles, including prospecting, executive engagement, deal structuring, negotiation, and contract execution through to go-live.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with C-level and senior decision-makers at insurance carriers and agencies.
- Structure complex partnership agreements, including financial models, pricing, and commercial terms aligned with both partner and business objectives.
- Guide partnerships through implementation and launch, collaborating closely with Product and Engineering to ensure successful execution and early performance tracking.
- Translate market feedback, partner insights, and competitive dynamics into actionable recommendations for Product, Marketing, and Pricing teams.
- Develop and document a repeatable sales playbook for the insurance vertical to support scalable growth and future team expansion.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align internal stakeholders around partner needs and strategic priorities.
- Leverage modern AI-enabled sales tools to improve pipeline efficiency, targeting, and deal acceleration.
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise sales, business development, or strategic partnerships, ideally within insurance, fintech, or embedded financial products.
- Strong understanding of the auto insurance ecosystem, including carriers, independent agencies, premium structures, and installment/payment models.
- Proven track record of closing complex, high-value enterprise deals in new or emerging markets with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience engaging and influencing senior executives and C-suite decision-makers in large organizations.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to build, evaluate, and negotiate sophisticated deal structures and commercial models.
- Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, zero-to-one environments and define go-to-market strategy from the ground up.
- Proven cross-functional leadership experience working with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to drive deal success.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills with the ability to articulate value propositions clearly at executive level.
- Familiarity with AI-powered sales tools and data-driven pipeline management approaches.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills in complex enterprise environments.
- Competitive compensation with performance-based OTE aligned to senior leadership level ($270,000–$375,000 depending on role scope and experience).
- Equity participation in a high-growth fintech company.
- Fully remote work flexibility across the United States.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- Unlimited paid time off plus company-paid holidays.
- Parental leave and family support benefits.
- 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contribution.
- Professional development support and access to learning opportunities.
- Strong autonomy and ownership over strategy, execution, and market development.
- Inclusive, high-performance culture focused on innovation and category creation.
