THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a RENTAL FIELD PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN to join our growing operations (Louisiana Rents) at our Monroe, Louisiana location.

SALARY POTENTIAL

60,000 - $72,000 yearly range

The yearly range indicated is representative of the hourly rate, including typical overtime. This range is based on a technician’s experience, skills, education and training. For technicians, overtime is typically calculated on a daily basis after 8 hours worked.

YOUR VALUE

The person in this role will be responsible for servicing and inspecting Caterpillar and Non-Caterpillar rental equipment in the field.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all components of heavy equipment includsing diesel engines, power trains, hydraulics, fuel systems, power generation, and electrical codes
  • Perform inspections and general preventative maintenance on heavy and light construction rental equipment
  • You will use a company provided truck enclosed with lube extraction and retraction necessities

MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS

  • REQUIRED: High School Diploma or (GED) equivalent
  • REQUIRED: Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle history
  • REQUIRED: Prior technical training of heavy machinery / equipment
  • REQUIRED: Strong mechanical Aptitude
  • REQUIRED: Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • REQUIRED: Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must own required tool inventory. Louisiana Cat offers exclusive Tooling Program (specific discussed during interviews)
  • Strong customer service skills, mechanical aptitude, professional demeanor and always "safety-first" mentality every hour of every day

JOB FACTS

  • SHIFT SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, working full time hours; may require working hours outside standard work schedule (specifics discussed during interviews)
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Requires physical movement, lifting, squatting, bending, climbing, and working with mechanical rotating parts in the Louisiana climate

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to occasionally lift 75 pounds from floor to chest. The employee must have the ability to reach and use the arms within a full range of motion in order to retrieve stocked parts. The employee must have the ability to endure prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching and squatting while performing mechanical operations. The employee must be able to exert push/pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools. The employee must be able to endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations. The employee must be able to use the hands to grasp hand tools and parts. The employee must have the ability to climb onto and operate equipment. The employee must have the ability to operate and maintain a field service vehicle with GVW of less than 26,000 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Employee regularly works around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. The noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with occasional loudness when equipment is running.
  • Employee will be required to be clean shaven when entering certain facilities. Employee may be required to travel overnight at times.
