The mission of CPLC's Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is to promote the health, well-being, and stability of refugees, unaccompanied alien children, and other eligible individuals and families, through culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based services. HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
As a Youth Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing direct care and supervision to refugee and immigrant youth in a residential setting. Your efforts will ensure the safety, well-being, and positive development of children and youth in care by supporting their daily routines, guiding behavioral growth, and fostering a stable, nurturing environment. You will get to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote a safe, structured, and culturally responsive environment.

You show up with purpose—creating safety, stability, and trust for refugee and immigrant youth during critical moments in their lives. As a Youth Care Worker, your presence brings consistency, compassion, and structure, helping young people feel supported, protected, and empowered to grow.
- Be a steady, trusted presence by providing continuous supervision and creating a safe, nurturing environment where youth can feel secure.
- Guide daily routines and transitions with patience and intention, helping build stability, confidence, and a sense of normalcy.
- Respond with calm and care in high-stress situations, using positive behavioral support and approved interventions to ensure safety and dignity. Support evacuations and transports.
- Support youth wherever they need you most, from residential spaces to classrooms, medical appointments, and off-site activities.
- Collaborate with a mission-driven team to deliver culturally responsive care and create meaningful, lasting impact every day.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education and Background Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional coursework or training in child welfare, social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children or adolescents in a child welfare, residential, or behavioral health setting.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Driver’s License: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that meets organizational insurance requirements.
- Must be able to pass all background checks successfully as required by contract.
