Job Description

CustodianAustin, TX, USA | Full-Time (40)

CSS is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to support operations within aerospace manufacturing, laboratory, and cleanroom environments. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional workplace while following all company safety procedures and quality standards. The Custodian will perform routine and specialized cleaning services to ensure facilities remain sanitary, organized, and operational.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain administrative offices, conference rooms, break rooms, hallways, lobbies, and other common areas.

  • Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms with paper products, hand soap, sanitizers, and other consumable supplies.

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all assigned areas and floor surfaces.

  • Remove trash and recycling from designated collection points and replace liners as needed.

  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles, light switches, counters, tables, and shared equipment.

  • Perform scheduled deep cleaning and specialty cleaning tasks as assigned.

  • Operate commercial cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaning equipment, and floor care equipment.

  • Safely handle and properly use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety regulations.

  • Monitor custodial supply levels and notify management when replenishment is needed.

  • Maintain equipment in clean working condition and report maintenance or repair needs.

  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and site-specific requirements, including those applicable to laboratory and cleanroom environments.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service while working in occupied facilities.

  • Perform other custodial and facility support duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.

  • Ability to safely operate standard custodial equipment and cleaning tools.

  • Knowledge of proper cleaning methods, sanitation practices, and chemical safety.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

  • Operate cleaning equipment and tools for extended periods.

  • Work in indoor office, laboratory, manufacturing, and cleanroom environments.

  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all site safety requirements.

Work Environment

This position supports aerospace manufacturing, laboratory, and cleanroom facilities where adherence to cleanliness, safety, and quality standards is critical. Employees may work around sensitive equipment and must follow all established facility protocols and security requirements.
