Description

The Contractor shall:

  • Perform periodic Work Center maintenance on approximately 70 in total MK 16 and MK 25 UBA using the 3-M Software Scheduling Program
  • Teach pre-dive setup procedures and post-dive maintenance of MK 16 and MK 25 UBAs, Re-entry Control and Failure Analysis Report requirements, and administrative documentation requirements for individual UBA’s Rig Jackets in classroom and laboratory settings. Qualification as an instructor and adherence to the Command’s instructor standards is not required.
  • Use fixed, compressed gas systems to fill MK 16 and MK 25 bottles with air, nitrogen, oxygen, and helium. In addition, the contractor shall perform maintenance and repairs on the systems and coordinate deliveries of gases to refill or replace micro-bulk storage tanks.
  • Maintain the command’s MK 16 and MK 25 parts, supplies, and tools; conduct periodic inventories; and using standard Naval Supply System, Federal, and commercial supply chain processes prepare and submit requisition orders for replenishment and replacement. Support includes storing, breaking out, and disposing of hazardous materials in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Navy instructions.
  • Draft and submit an annual operating budget (CDRL) to the Division Officer, and periodically review and update lesson plans, course documents, and curriculum.

Requirements
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years U.S. Navy First Class Diver, Master EOD Technician, or U.S. Marine Corps Combatant Diver experience with three in the last five years of MK-16 or MK-25 Underwater Breathing Apparatus (UBA) diving operations experience respectively.
  • Must qualify as a Navy Material Maintenance Management (3-M) 301 Maintenance Person, 302 Repair Parts / Supply Petty Officer, and 303 Work Center Supervisor within 30 days of reporting to the command (CDRL).
  • Must complete NDSTC’s MK 16 Advanced Troubleshooting and Maintenance course within 60 days of reporting to the command.
  • Must complete NDSTC’s Re-entry Control Supervisor, Oxygen Clean System Worker, and Basic Diving Systems qualifications within 60 days of reporting to the command.
  • Must complete NDSTC’s Fixed, Compressed Gas Systems qualification and certification within 60 days of reporting to the command.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Will be required to follow all Federal COVID-19 protocols as they pertain to contractors.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate.
