The Manager, Valuation will oversee and coordinate valuation activities for private equity investments while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established policies and best practices. This role requires strong financial expertise, project management capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate quarterly and monthly valuation processes for private equity investments in partnership with investment professionals, external valuation providers, and internal teams.
- Review valuation models in detail to ensure accuracy, integrity, consistency, and alignment with valuation policies and procedures.
- Support valuation discussions involving senior leadership and provide technical guidance on complex valuation topics.
- Prepare presentation materials and valuation-related analyses for internal and external meetings.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of valuation policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Perform portfolio performance analyses, including metrics such as IRR, MOIC, and other ad hoc investment analyses.
- Collaborate with investor relations teams on valuation-related reporting, communications, and marketing materials.
- Identify opportunities to improve valuation processes, reporting workflows, and technology solutions.
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members, supporting development, resource planning, and operational effectiveness.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure proper handling of sensitive financial and investment information.
The ideal candidate brings strong valuation experience, financial expertise, and the ability to operate effectively in a high-accountability investment environment. They should demonstrate excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; Master’s degree, MS, or MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in valuation, private equity, investment management, financial analysis, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of valuation methodologies and generally accepted valuation approaches.
- Experience working with private equity funds, investment portfolios, or alternative investment strategies preferred.
- CFA and/or CPA certification preferred but not required.
- Previous experience leading teams, developing talent, and supporting resource planning.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver executive-level presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across finance teams, investment professionals, leadership, and external providers.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Competitive annual base salary range of $140,000 - $182,000 depending on experience, expertise, location, and qualifications.
