VP, Business Process Engineering & Agentic AI Innovation

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP, Business Process Engineering & Agentic AI Innovation based in the United States.

The VP, Business Process Engineering & Agentic AI Innovation will lead enterprise technology transformation by combining advanced AI capabilities, process engineering, and platform modernization. This strategic leadership role will establish the foundations for an agentic operating model, enabling intelligent automation and more efficient business workflows. You will oversee enterprise AI architecture, platform engineering, integrations, and technology operations while ensuring reliability, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Working closely with executive leadership, internal teams, and external technology partners, you will translate organizational priorities into actionable technology strategies. You will also drive organizational change, foster engineering excellence, and enable teams to adopt emerging technologies responsibly. Accountabilities:
  • Partner with the Chief Technology Officer and technology leadership to define and implement enterprise technology strategies for AI platforms, applied AI, and process automation.
  • Establish technology policies, architectural standards, and governance frameworks that support secure, scalable, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Align technology investments and transformation initiatives with organizational priorities, mission objectives, and financial constraints.
  • Design and establish an enterprise Agent Builder Framework for creating, deploying, orchestrating, and managing AI agents.
  • Define standards for agent orchestration, tool integration, memory, governance, and responsible implementation of agentic AI.
  • Develop reusable components, templates, and reference architectures to accelerate scalable agent development and serve as the central design authority for agentic AI initiatives.
  • Lead enterprise-wide business process engineering and automation strategies, identifying and prioritizing high-value opportunities for AI-enabled workflows.
  • Establish human-in-the-loop models and decision-making frameworks that balance automation with appropriate human oversight.
  • Develop domain-specific process engineering roadmaps aligned with organizational transformation priorities.
  • Define foundational architecture for AI platform services, orchestration layers, and enterprise systems, ensuring effective integration across CRM and ERP systems, cloud platforms, and AI services.
  • Ensure alignment between user-facing experience layers and backend AI, data, and integration platforms.
  • Manage relationships with external technology vendors and managed service providers (MSPs), establishing standards for AI frameworks, UI/UX, APIs, integrations, and React-based applications.
  • Oversee vendor-delivered solutions to ensure they meet technical specifications, architectural standards, timelines, and budget requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise during procurement activities and vendor negotiations.
  • Establish and monitor platform reliability, performance, and operational excellence metrics.
  • Foster a high-performing engineering culture centered on innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical learning.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives that support adoption of AI-enabled workflows, automation frameworks, and new technology platforms.
  • Enable internal teams and external partners to adopt new tools and frameworks effectively while promoting inclusive technology design and delivery.
  • Ensure technology practices align with organizational commitments to affirmative action and nondiscrimination.
  • Perform occasional evening or weekend work as required and travel approximately 0–10%.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Advanced degree, such as an MS or MBA, or equivalent leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience in enterprise information technology leadership.
  • At least 10 years of experience in senior-level management roles with multidisciplinary responsibilities.
  • Proven track record leading large-scale technology transformation initiatives and influencing organization-wide change.
  • Extensive experience in enterprise platform modernization and AI-enabled transformation.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology strategy, complex technical architecture, and the ability to translate business priorities into practical technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated fiscal responsibility and experience managing enterprise technology budgets and aligning investments with business needs.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as Salesforce, SAP, Oracle/NetSuite, and web-based platforms.
  • Knowledge of major cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Experience with integration technologies such as MuleSoft, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architectures.
  • Familiarity with identity and data platforms, including Okta, Gigya, and SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, AI orchestration platforms, and agent-based architectures.
  • Ability to establish enterprise architecture standards and coordinate internal teams, external vendors, and managed service providers.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to bridge business strategy and complex technical concepts.
  • Strong leadership and change management capabilities, including the ability to build collaborative, high-performing teams and support technology adoption across the organization.
  • Commitment to inclusive practices, continuous learning, and responsible technology development.

Benefits:

  • Annual salary range of $109,000–$260,000 for employees based in the New York City metropolitan area or similarly situated locations. Actual compensation varies according to experience and other relevant factors.
  • More than 20 days of paid time off, two floating holidays, and nine workplace holidays annually.
