Job Description
Full-Time | W-2 | In-Person | Sherman Oaks, CA | $30–$35/hour
About ZeevaZeeva Behavioral Health is a woman-owned, therapist-owned and therapist-led group psychotherapy practice with offices throughout Los Angeles and telehealth services across California.
We believe exceptional mental health care should be deeply human and accessible. That's why we intentionally work with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and most major commercial insurance plans. Making quality care accessible isn't an afterthought. It's part of who we are.
We're a growing, boutique practice built on clinical excellence, meaningful relationships, and five core values: Heart-Centered, Dedicated to Excellence, Inspired Learning, Brave Reflection, and The Power of We.
The OpportunityWe're looking for an experienced, exceptionally organized Senior Mental Health Billing Specialist to take ownership of our medical billing and revenue cycle operations.
This is a hands-on position for someone who knows how to get things done.
You don't consider a claim complete because you submitted it. You follow it through until it's paid or appropriately resolved. When an insurance company denies a legitimate claim, you investigate, follow up, and find the appropriate path forward. When a patient balance doesn't look right, you reconcile it before anyone is asked to pay.
You know how to walk into imperfect systems, identify what's wrong, fix it, and establish processes that prevent the same problems from happening again.
You don't just complete tasks. You own outcomes.
We're also investing in technology and AI-assisted automation to make our billing processes more accurate, efficient, and transparent. You'll have the opportunity to help develop, test, and improve these workflows alongside our internal team.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in doing things right, welcomes feedback, and wants to be part of a collaborative team that values excellence, accountability, and genuine care.
We'd love to welcome you to Zeeva.

- Audit existing billing workflows, identify gaps, and help establish practical standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with our internal team on billing automation, AI-assisted workflows, reporting, and process improvements.
- Coordinate with our external credentialing partner to identify and resolve enrollment issues affecting reimbursement.
You're sharp, persistent, highly organized, and comfortable taking ownership.
You know how to pursue reimbursement for legitimate claims, even when the first answer from an insurance company is no. You're comfortable navigating complicated payer requirements and figuring out what needs to happen next.
You don't let problems sit unresolved or wait for someone to remind you to follow up. You communicate proactively, take responsibility for your work, and know when to escalate an issue.
You welcome feedback, enjoy learning, and recognize that strong individual accountability and The Power of We go hand in hand.
Most importantly, you understand that accurate, ethical billing isn't just about revenue. It's part of making excellent mental health care accessible.
