About the Role:
The Carpenter, Manufactured Housing plays a critical role in the construction and assembly of manufactured homes, ensuring that all structural components meet quality and safety standards. This position involves interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to accurately build, install, and repair various wooden frameworks and fixtures within the housing units. The carpenter will collaborate closely with other tradespeople and supervisors to maintain efficient workflow and meet production deadlines. Attention to detail and adherence to building codes are essential to deliver durable and aesthetically pleasing homes. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to providing safe, comfortable, and affordable housing solutions for customers across the United States.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in manufactured housing or residential construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using hand and power carpentry tools.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or apprenticeship completion in carpentry or related trade.
- Experience with modular or manufactured housing assembly processes.
- Familiarity with advanced carpentry techniques and materials.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems as they relate to housing construction.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and materials required for manufactured housing construction.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials to build walls, floors, roofs, and interior fixtures according to design specifications.
- Install doors, windows, cabinets, and trim, ensuring proper fit and finish.
- Inspect and repair existing structures to maintain safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure timely completion of housing units.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and using personal protective equipment.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently to complete assigned tasks.
