Senior Microsoft Azure Developer

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to mission-critical cloud applications within a fast-paced, agile federal environment. You will design, develop, and enhance cloud-native solutions built on Microsoft Azure, supporting both new application development and ongoing modernization efforts. The position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to translate technical requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable systems. You will also play a key role in supporting Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities for existing platforms. Accountabilities

Design, develop, and enhance cloud-native applications and services within Microsoft Azure, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability across enterprise systems.

  • Build and implement new applications and services using Azure Functions, App Services, and serverless architectures
  • Develop and integrate APIs and microservices to support system interoperability and business requirements
  • Work with relational and NoSQL data stores, including Azure Storage solutions (Blob, Table, Queue)
  • Translate technical requirements and architectural designs into high-quality, production-ready code
  • Support Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities for existing mission-critical applications
  • Collaborate within Agile teams to participate in design reviews, testing, and continuous delivery practices
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for automated builds, testing, and deployments
  • Improve code quality, deployment processes, and system reliability through continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements

Experienced Microsoft Azure developer with strong backend engineering skills, cloud-native development expertise, and proven ability to work in regulated or enterprise environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 7+ years of relevant software development experience (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Functions, App Services, and storage solutions
  • Solid proficiency in C#, .NET / .NET Core, and Microsoft development tools such as Visual Studio and SQL Server
  • Experience building APIs, microservices, and scalable cloud-based applications
  • Strong understanding of NoSQL data modeling and distributed system design
  • Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing and deployment workflows
  • Familiarity with relational databases and enterprise integration tools (e.g., SSIS, SSRS, WCF)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in Agile, collaborative environments
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts clearly
  • Experience in federal or regulated environments is a plus
  • Azure-related certifications or experience with financial systems is a plus
