Bakery Apprentice in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at DEMO - Corner Bakery

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Bakery Apprentice to join our team. This role provides hands-on training in all aspects of bakery operations, including preparing ingredients, baking products, maintaining food safety standards, and providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will develop practical baking skills while working alongside experienced bakers in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and baking of bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods.

• Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to recipes and production schedules.

• Learn proper baking techniques, decorating methods, and product presentation standards.

• Prepare and maintain baking equipment, tools, and workstations.

• Monitor baking times and temperatures under supervision.

• Receive, store, and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness and quality.

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.

• Clean and sanitize production areas, equipment, and utensils.

• Assist with inventory checks and stock management.

• Provide friendly customer service when required.

• Support the bakery team with daily operations and special orders.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

• Interest in baking, food preparation, or culinary arts.

• Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills quickly.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food service environment.

• Enrollment in or completion of a culinary or baking program.

• Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain).
