Job Description

Position Description: Responsible to successfully implement the college's recruitment plan, be a representative of the college, and be an integral component of the the Admissions team. Position Responsibilities: 49.00% - Recruitment of students. This includes but not limited to: develop and implement recruitment plan; travel and participate in high school visits, college and community fairs, and community events; relationship development with students, parents, high school personnel, and other key constituents. 19.00% - Customer Service. This includes but not limited to: building internal relationships; information sharing with campus personnel; assist college personnel in recruitment of students; serve as liaison between the college and prospective students/parents; conduct campus visits with students as needed; response to other customer/student needs. 17.00% - Assist in daily operations of Admissions Office. This includes but not limited to: training, managing, and assisting with student ambassadors and student employees; assisting in Admissions daily tasks; and assisting where needed. Provide support for processing international student admissions documentation and potential Designated School Official (DSO) duties. 10.00% - Assist in recruitment planning activities. This includes but not limited to: content and design of recruitment publications and promotional materials; budgetary and strategic planning; event coordination and planning. 5.00% - Performs other duties as needed or assigned. Expectations: 1. To Increase enrollment in areas of primary responsibility and contribute to college-wide enrollment increases.
2. To be an integral component of the Admissions team.
3. To adhere to college and department procedures, objectives, and budgetary responsibilities including keeping information confidential.
4. To serve as liaison between Admissions Office and the Barton community both internally and externally.
5. Have extensive knowledge of campus departments and their functions to provide assistance to students, Barton employees, and visitors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience - Six months to two years of similar or related experience. Education - A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school. Interpersonal Skills - A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary. Other Skill - Six months to two years of similar or related work experience in recruitment, sales, or customer service. Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Excellent computer knowledge and experience; Ability to learn new programs quickly; Ability to create, compose and edit written materials; Strong organizational and concentration skills with the ability to work at multiple tasks, give attention to detail; Records management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; Excellent customer service and human relations skills; Good office management skills and ability to work independently with little supervision; Ability to work well with other departments on campus; Valid Kansas Driver's License; Social Media knowledge and skill preferred. Physical Requirements: The work requires minor physical exertion such as short periods of standing, walking over rough uneven surfaces, some recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities. Job may require recurring lifting of lightweight objects with infrequent bending or stooping alternating with the lighter activities. Job requires minimal agility and dexterity. Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office or classroom. Wages/Other:

The hourly rate for the Admissions Representative position is $18.90 to $21.11.
