This is a flexible, independent opportunity for a native English speaker interested in legal transcription and remote gig work.
You will listen to recordings of real legal proceedings and produce accurate, verbatim transcripts of the spoken content.

- Listen carefully to recordings of legal proceedings and produce complete, accurate, verbatim transcripts that capture all spoken content clearly.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive, private, or proprietary information contained within legal cases and investigations.
- Use the provided transcription software efficiently, following all setup, workflow, and operational guidelines.
- Review transcripts carefully for grammar, punctuation, spelling, formatting, and overall accuracy before submission.
- Independently manage your workload and schedule, selecting available transcription assignments based on your capacity and availability.
- Consistently meet required weekly deadlines while maintaining high standards of transcription quality.
- Apply existing knowledge of legal terminology and abbreviations or develop familiarity with relevant terminology as needed for each assignment.
- Exercise professionalism, maturity, and discretion when working with sensitive legal material and confidential proceedings.
- Accurately capture speech as heard, including case-specific language and other relevant spoken details.
- Native English speaker currently residing in the United States.
- Strong attention to detail and a highly accurate approach to written work.
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to maintain concentration while working with audio recordings.
- Strong command of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure.
- Strong typing speed combined with the ability to maintain accuracy.
- Ability to transcribe proceedings verbatim and faithfully represent spoken content.
- Familiarity with basic legal terminology and abbreviations, or willingness and ability to learn them.
- Access to a reliable computer and dependable internet/Wi-Fi connection.
- Ability to work independently, manage assignments effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong discretion and professional judgment when handling confidential or potentially sensitive information.
- Previous transcription experience is helpful but not required; individuals with strong listening, typing, and language skills are encouraged to apply.
- Comfortable learning and using proprietary or specialized software and following established processes.
