Asset Manager – Conventional Multifamily
Position Overview
Our organization is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Asset Manager to oversee the financial and operational performance of a conventional multifamily portfolio. This position partners with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to drive asset performance, execute business plans, and maximize investment returns. The successful candidate will lead strategic initiatives, evaluate financial performance, influence operational decision-making, and provide executive-level reporting while serving as a trusted advisor across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead asset management for a portfolio of conventional multifamily communities managed both in-house and by third-party operators.
• Own property financial performance, including NOI, occupancy, revenue growth, operating expenses, cash flow, and investment returns.
• Lead weekly operational reviews with Regional Managers and Property Managers to identify risks, opportunities, and action plans.
• Review monthly financial statements, identify trends and variances, and recommend strategies to improve performance.
• Develop annual operating budgets, forecasts, business plans, and capital improvement strategies.
• Prepare executive dashboards, investor reports, and portfolio presentations.
• Evaluate pricing, renewals, concessions, leasing velocity, delinquency, and expense management.
• Perform hold/sell analyses, refinancing evaluations, acquisition integration, and disposition support.
• Partner with Accounting, Operations, Acquisitions, and executive leadership on strategic initiatives.
• Build and improve portfolio analytics, KPI reporting, and financial models.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of multifamily asset management experience.
• Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel skills; Argus experience preferred.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and investor reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to influence operations and improve asset performance.
• Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, accounting, business, or related field.
