Job Description

Allient Inc. is in growth mode and currently seeking an Applications Engineer to join our team at our facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma!

The Applications Engineer conducts and engages with customers on a defined set of applications and solutions to determine requirements related to some manufactured products including motors, drives, gearboxes and other Allient Inc. products and systems. This individual will serve as a liaison between Allient Inc. and its customers, distributors, and reps. Apply now!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare cost estimates, quotations, bids, and supporting analyses for new and existing products
  • Review requirements and estimate inputs to identify missing information, unclear scope, assumptions, technical risks, cost drivers, schedule impacts, and items requiring customer or internal clarification.
  • Communicate onthe estimate basis, open items, assumptions, exclusions, risks, and key cost drivers during quote and opportunity reviews.
  • Support sales volume, pricing, and standard margin forecasts and help evaluate price changes, share opportunities, and market conditions.
  • Serve as a liaison to obtain and provide engineering specifications and related information and assist with expediting material requisitions and production work orders as appropriate.
  • Ensure customers and sales teams have current prints, product configurations, quotation assumptions, and pricing information for quoted products.
  • Engage customers, distributors, representatives, agents, the Solution Center, and Regional Sales Managers to understand application needs and quote requirements.
  • Collect and evaluate technical and commercial inputs, including drawings, specifications, product configuration, volumes, timing, operating conditions, qualification needs, and customer expectations.
  • Prepare planning estimates and detailed itemized estimates using drawings, specs, bills of materials, labor assumptions, tooling needs, manufacturing requirements, testing, and other cost factors.
  • Provide technical assistance to interpret, analyze, and resolve procurement, manufacturing, installation, trial operation, and field application issues.
  • Support quoting and applications activity for regulated or contract-driven markets, including aerospace, medical device, DoD, ITAR-controlled, and government contract environments.
  • Ensure estimates consider applicable first article, material traceability, customer-specific documentation, testing, qualification, and validation requirements.
  • Coordinate with the appropriate internal stakeholders so customer-sensitive, ITAR-controlled, export-controlled, or government contract information is handled according to company procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical. A related technical degree with equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Three or more years of experience in applications engineering, quoting, estimating, cost analysis, technical sales support, manufacturing support, commercial operations, program support, or a related technical-commercial role.
  • Experience developing or supporting cost estimates, quotations, bids, customer proposals, or application solutions for technical manufactured products and systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, customer specifications, technical procedures, statements of work, bills of material, business documents, professional journals, and applicable governmental or regulatory requirements.
  • Strong ability to collect, organize, validate, and communicate information from customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with ERP/MRP, quoting, estimating, engineering documentation, reporting, or CRM systems.
